Do not post your raid signup in this board directly! Instead, use the calendar.
First, go to
this link. Look for the box on the calendar that represents the day of your event. In the upper left corner of that box is a number: the day of the month. Click on that number. You'll get a screen like a normal post screen, but you get to specify an event title and a date; the date should already be set for you if you clicked on the correct day of the month.
For example, if you want to post an event on the 14th of the month, click on the number 14 in the Calendar.
It's important to note the fields in the "Post Event" form do different things:
- Event Title is what shows up in the Calendar display, and is not visible anywhere else. The event title does not need to contain a date or time, but it should be short; e.g.: "Baron Farming"
- Subject is what shows up in the forum post as the topic name. The subject will need to contain a date and time; e.g.: "Baron Farming - 8pm Fri 13 Jan".
Make the calendar entry (the Event Title) as short as possible, since the space on the calendar display is quite small. Keep the Subject as short as possible too.
Also, try to stick to a common format for the date. The preferred format is to append the date/time as " - 8pm Fri 13 Jan" which is a separator, time of day, short day name (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat), day of month, then short month name (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, etc).
Using a common format means that it's easier to read the Raid/Group signups page. Including the day saves a few seconds - most people know that certain days of the week are "good" or "bad" for them, not everyone has a calendar in their head to map from "13 Jan 2006" to "Friday next week".
When possible, please be considerate of other raids. This means:
1. List and link to the raids that are going on at the same time.
2. List and link to another raid doing to the same place during another time of the week.
3. Mention whether there will be a lock or not.
4. Mention when the lock ends.
And if you mess it up, we can always fix it for you, so no worries.
