I post in my sign ups when I will plan to tap the alt list so they know when to be on.  I also make it clear that if they want in the best thing they can do is be fully ready to go and be waiting at the instance if they want to try to make it in.  This tells me they really want to come.

its ok really guys i wasnt aiming for you really an truely Smiley  most of the raid leaders
are really good about doing just what you guys are doing, i only posted so that a "new"
raid leader would also do it:)  its obvious by your successes that you guys do stuff
the way it should be done and you have loyal an happy raiders because of it .

Raiding is serious business!!! NOT
it's funny business!
you'll be amazed how you can, as a group, accomplish the impossible against the odds with an awkward class balance etc..IF you can keep up morale!

also the number one job of a raid leader is to
POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS!
sounds lame I know, but after 20 trips in molten core you still have to say "stay right!"
after a gazillion trips in SSC: "Hold DPS on the transition! let the tanks get aggro!"
an ounce of good natured prevention and an amusing broken record is worth a pounding of cure:)

there are many loot systems just be fair and consistant. folks will suprize you with their patience and generosity. we all know how to share. spread the love!
GOOD LUCK and HAPPY HUNTING!

Anyone who is a SASU member in good standing can post a raid sign-up sheet on the forum and start his or her own raid. However, SASU raids are held to certain standards: please refer to the "Raid rules" part of SASU's Rule of conducts if you need more information regarding this.

Very well said =) I quit raid leading because getting people to pitch in was difficult too. Maybe they too were burned out from trying to lead and be productive to be let down. I've taken quite a break from raid leading and i'm getting back up onto the horse and trying again.
